about

"For over a decade, it was unclear if Oriente Lux would make a proper debut. This duo of Valerio Cosi and myself was first born around 2008, while we prepared Valerio’s 'Heavy Electronic Pacific Rock' for Digitalis. In the preceding years, we’d struck up a musical friendship and collaborating was a next logical step. Recordings were sent back and forth and ideas shared, but save for a few compilation appearances, the ideas weren’t ready to coalesce into a formative statement. Years passed and we lost touch, but in 2020, we reconnected. The same supportive spirit that imbued our friendship was still there and, against all odds, we decided the time was right to rekindle the Oriente Lux fire.
In late summer 2021, Valerio began reworking the tracks in his studio. Ideas and inspiration flew back and forth until an album unlike anything either of us had ever made was complete. Time was the missing ingredient. On October 1st, via my new label The Jewel Garden, Oriente Lux makes our debut." - Brad Rose
